Emma Young joins Philosophy permanently as our first Principal Consultant
After more than four years of working side by side – first at our forerunner Fit for Purpose, and for the last eighteen months at Philosophy Consulting – we’re thrilled to announce that Emma Young has joined the team permanently as our first Principal Consultant.
Emma will head up our Strategy and Reporting function. She brings a wealth of experience supporting a variety of UK enterprise businesses across sectors including technology, real estate, banking and energy with their sustainability strategy and communications. Her expertise across environmental and social governance, regulatory compliance and reporting, and stakeholder engagement makes her a trusted advisor and critical friend to our clients.
Emma began her career at British Airways, where she spent six years in roles spanning customer service, partnership marketing and PR, latterly as Communications Manager. She has since spent twenty years in corporate responsibility and reporting – first at O2 (Telefónica UK), where she rose to Head of Corporate Responsibility and Stakeholder Communications and led the launch of O2’s first sustainability plan, and since 2014 through her own consultancy, The Responsible Business Company, where she has focused on strategy development and reporting. Along the way, she has built a strong working knowledge of the major ESG reporting frameworks and regulations, including the NFSIS, UK SRS, TCFD, TNFD and CSRD, supporting large clients by writing multiple mandatory and voluntary non-financial disclosures.
At Philosophy, she leads several of our key client relationships, including Ampa LLP, OneAdvanced Ltd and UCC Coffee, directing projects encompassing materiality, target setting, climate risk analysis and regulatory reporting alignment.
