ENSO is a UK-based tyre technology company reinventing tyres for electric vehicles by engineering products that reduce tyre particulate pollution, extend EV range and improve environmental performance compared with conventional tyres. Tyre wear is the second-largest source of primary microplastic pollution in the ocean and a major contributor to air pollution in cities. ENSO work with delivery fleets, logistic companies, and EV manufacturers to drive cleaner, more sustainable mobility. ENSO was the first tyre company certified as a B Corporation, and was a finalist in The Earthshot Prize – Clean Our Air category in 2023.
Having been certified as a B Corp early on in its growth journey, when the company was still pre-revenue, although its mission was clear, many of its sustainability practices had developed organically. So, when ENSO entered its first recertification cycle in 2025 as a more established business they sought specialist support from Philosophy to strengthen performance across all five impact areas (B Corp standards version 1.6), ensuring accurate, evidence-based responses.
The company identified early on that recertification presented an opportunity to formalise policies, improve data quality, and strengthen governance. ENSO was keen to maximise the value of recertification – not just to maintain certification, but to use the process to build stronger foundations for long-term social and environmental impact.
