At Philosophy Consulting Ltd, we’re constantly inspired by members of our community who strive for a better future and demonstrate what it truly means to show up for people and planet. Today, we’re celebrating someone doing exactly that — in the most extraordinary way.
Our fellow B Leader, friend and impact powerhouse Hannah 🌿 Cox is in India taking on an ultra-endurance challenge that is hard to mentally grasp even as a spectator, Project Salt Run.
We’re incredibly honoured that Philosophy is one of the sponsors supporting her mission.
👉 Running 100 marathons in 100 days – Hannah completed her 30th marathon today
👉 Covering 4,200 km while retracing the historic Inland Customs Line – once used for colonial salt-tax control
Aiming to raise £1 million for 1% for the Planet, Big Change, Frank Water and ClientEarth (see the crowdfunder link in the comments)
👉 All in extreme heat, isolation, unpredictable conditions… and with some very sore legs
Project Salt Run is shining a light on a forgotten colonial route and its legacy of extraction and inequality, while highlighting the communities now living on the frontline of climate and ecological disruption. It’s also a call to recognise the power that businesses and individuals have to change systems — not just processes.
The scale of Hannah’s challenge is almost impossible to grasp: the physical and mental resilience required for 100 consecutive marathons is extraordinary. And yet, it mirrors the urgency and magnitude of the environmental and social issues she’s bringing attention to along the way.
Last week, in an incredible twist of good fortune, Hannah and the team met Sir Richard Branson when their route took them via the Taj Mahal, one of the Wonders of the World. He even recorded a strong message of support for her bravery and fortitude.
