Carbon Confidence and Decarbonisation services

We provide clients with carbon confidence, whether that’s calculating a footprint for them, guiding and equipping clients to calculate it themselves, conducting complex Scope 3 work or providing independent third-party verification on existing data or reports. Robust and appropriate measurement helps remove uncertainty and drives data-led impactful decision making, so critical to effective impact reduction.

Organisational Carbon Footprint Development

Calculating your carbon footprint can be a daunting prospect. We ensure you measure the right data at the right level of accuracy, guiding you through data collection and developing the footprint for you, and ensuring you understand the results, and material impact areas on which to base impact reduction.

Footprint Support

Many clients choose to develop their own footprint, with specialist advice and support from Philosophy. This can range from guiding on data collection and use of proxies and assumptions, assessing additional Scope 3 categories, moving from spend to activity-based factors, training or other support. We can recommend tools but are platform agnostic to help you with whichever solution you choose.

Critical Reviews, Verification and Other Assurance

Our assurance services provide you and your stakeholders with carbon confidence. We can conduct simple QA exercises on your data and calculations, or formal critical reviews and full 3rd party footprint verification in line with ISO14064, GHG protocol standards or a streamlined approach.

Product Carbon Footprinting (PCF)

Business and consumer customers increasingly want to know the specific footprint of your individual products and services. Our product carbon footprint services follow the GHG Protocol, ISO 14067, PAS 2050 (or a streamlined option) to provide you with actionable information to compare and reduce product impacts and communicate results with confidence.

Lifecycle assessment (LCA)

Our LCA services enable you to quantify and assess multiple environmental categories, moving beyond carbon assessment. By understanding the full and individually material impact areas you can then make informed decisions, reduce impacts and communicate with confidence. Our LCA’s may follow ISO14044, Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) or streamline options.

Science Based Net Zero Pathways

We’ll enable you to set science-based carbon reduction targets that are appropriate for your business, establishing long-term net zero ambition coupled with short and medium term specific goals. We use scenario analysis techniques to enable you to understand the practicality and cost of potential target options, giving you confidence in your carbon reduction journey.

Carbon Reduction Plans

Targets are important but action is what shifts the dial. We enable you to develop, implement and deliver considered, costed and resourced carbon reduction plans that are compliant with legislative requirements and industry best practice.
